Hoover Carol G.

Carol Griswold Hoover received her Physics BS at Auburn University in 1967 and enrolled in graduate physics courses at the University of Virginia in 1967–1968 before moving to California where she worked as a mathematician at the Edwards Air Force Flight Test Center. Carol enrolled in graduate school at UC Davis-Livermore in 1972 while working as a student employee at the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory. She specialized in computational plasma physics and received her PhD in 1978. Carol continued working at the Laboratory in the field of large scale computing in both physics and engineering groups. She served as Project Leader developing DYNA3D, a massively parallel structural analysis program while collaborating with her husband and their many colleagues around the world.
