Travis Karl P.

Karl Patrick Travis is Reader in Computational Physics and Nuclear Waste Disposal and leads the Deep Borehole Disposal (DBD) Research Group at the University of Sheffield. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and has over 20 years of experience in computational modelling including 14 in the area of nuclear waste management and disposal. He has published many papers in the area of liquid state chemical physics while his current interest is in the application of Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics to solve problems in material physics. In his spare time he enjoys personal fitness and training with weights, offering instruction on a voluntary basis at his local Leisure Centre, where he is also Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees. Karl is also a keen rollercoaster enthusiast!
