Kun ZHOU was born in Hunan Province, China. He obtained his PhD in mechanical engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in 2006, and his M. E. and B. E. in mechanical engineering from Tsinghua University, China in 2001 and 1998, respectively. From 2007 to 2010, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Surface Engineering & Tribology, Northwestern University, USA. Since 2010, he has been an Assistant Professor at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, NTU. His research interests focus on micro/nano mechanics of materials and structures, novel computational methods for modeling material behavior, and sustainable energy and green technologies. He currently serves on the Elasticity Technical Committee, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
