PIOTR P. GOLDSTEIN, born and living in Poland. Mathematical physicist, specializing in solvable nonlinear mathematical models of physical phenomena. Assistant Professor at the Andrzej Soltan Institute for Nuclear Studies (Theoretical Physics Department). Visiting Professor at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada (1987/88), collaborator of the University of Montreal (visits in 1989, 1990, 2002, 2004, 2009); lecturer at the University of Vinh, in 2005. Author of papers in nonlinear plasma physics, optics and articles on integrability of evolution equations, published in various journals of international range. Co-author of a monographic handbook (with Cao Long Van) A Concise Course in Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations (2008). Interested in popularization of mathematics and physics: teacher of physics at 1st Community High School, Warsaw. One of the organizers (head in 2004–2008) and co-author of questions in the Polish-Ukraïnian Physics Competition “Lion Cub”. Member of the Editorial Board of a popular scientific journal “Delta”.
