Goodale Tom

TOM GOODALE has been the chief architect and lead developer of the Cactus Framework since 1998. He is a research associate in the Schools of Computer Science and Physics and a part-time research associate at the  Center for Computation & Technology at Louisiana State University. Goodale has been involved in a number of Grid projects, in particular in the GridLab project, where he was leader of Work Package 1: The Grid Application Toolkit and a member of the technical board, holding the post of Quality manager for the first year of the project. He is a founding chair of the Simple API for Grid Applications Research Group (SAGA-RG) within the GGF. Goodale received his BA in Theoretical Physics from Cambridge University in 1992, and, after obtaining the Certificate of Advanced Study in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from Cambridge in 1993, worked as a software engineer in the Oil and Gas industry before returning to academia in 1996. He received a masters in Computational Fluid Dynamics from Cranfield University in 1998. His interests include high performance computing, frameworks, grid computing, CFD and numerical relativity.
