Burak Yaroslav

YAROSLAV BURAK: Professor, Corresponding Member of The Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences (1985), Scientific Vice-Head, Centre of Mathematical Modelling of Pidstryhach Institute of Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics of The Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences. He graduated from The Faculty of Physic and Mathematics of Ivan Franko Lviv State University. Since 1953 he has been working in institutions of The Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences, where he took his degrees in mechanics of continuum deformable systems. He has received two State Awards. The area of his scientific interests is mechanics of deformable thermoelastic systems, nonequilibrium thermodynamics, analytical methods of optimization of thermomecanical processes in constructions by shell type, and subsurface phenomena. He has developed the local-gradient thermo-dynamical approach to constructing mathematical models of nonlinear local-gradient thermo-mechanics. He has worked out methods of optimization of local thermal working thin-walled constructions. He is author of over 300 scientific publications, including 8 monographs.
